Slow, dark, surreal and incredibly minimal is what you get when you combine Grizzly Bear with Nicolas Jaar. The first time I heard this track was in the late hours of a club that was just about to shut down for the night. It was more like a cool down track for all the pumping deep house that they played earlier. I remember having a conversation with a friend and then stopping midway and going like, what the hell is this track? Thanks to Shazam I found it. Shazam didn’t tell me it was a Nicolas Jaar remix that was ringing in my ears though. I must say that the track was absolutely enveloping from those speakers. It literally filled my entire body with a deep yet subtle sensuality.
I don’t know what genre this track would come under. It’s too chill for deep house; yet it’s not chill enough because it does have a slow, deep beat to it. Airy, drifting vocals together with the chill deep house beat and the dark guitar sample make this track perfect for late nights. Really, I can only imagine city lights and late night drives when I listen to this track.
