The talented vinyl only artist Mr. Raoul K gives GD one of its coolest, most eclectic and one of its most beautiful sets till date. The set is a journey of transgression that transports you into another world and time. It is a cinematique play between a timeless, nostalgic past and a distant future. We urge you to open your heart, soul and ears to this set and let it take you on a heady, hypnotic trip.

We’re happy to welcome Berlin based KempSarr for our 91st set in Getting Deeper’s podcast family. His set is a deep, sexy and emotive journey of upward scaling, cinematique melodies. It’s perfect for intimate afterhours or long, afternoon drives. We love it.
Next up on our podcast series is Mickey Imperi, who is the artist behind another of GD’s favorite podcast compilations – Deep & Eclectic. His set for Getting Deeper is a coherent, gradual and upward scaling set in which he weaves a soothing but dark sound of disjointed melodies and deep, progressive beats. It’s beautifully strung together with tracks that complement each other only to produce a 1 hour package perfect for restorative, afterhour midnight sessions. Enjoy.
For Getting Deeper’s 89th podcast, we’ve got a spacious deep tech set by Foreign Guest. The set carries a modern, cinematique sound along with a shattering audio clarity. It’s dark, mysterious but also sexy… making it a perfect companion for those dizzying afterhours.
We love the track selection on this one because it’s consistently classy and abides by the overall theme of the set, which is essentially a hauntingly heady trip into the dark hours of the night. Whether you spend it alone or with friends, there is no denying the fact that the set creates an inward, cocooning space around you.
Thanks Balthasar! it’s a pleasure to host this set on GD.
Firstly, I want to wish a beautiful year to everyone before we explore this special set for a very special time of the year, both for myself and for Getting Deeper. I have been looking forward to release this set for quite some time. Ever since I discovered Luca Musto, I’ve felt that his musical aura was something that needed to be captured on Getting Deeper.
His music is warm yet melancholic. It’s warm because it feels real. It isn’t excessively happy or sad, but it is beautifully authentic. It makes you feel like you aren’t alone. It is the kind of music that you play during the times that you are spending with yourself, perhaps in those therapeutic spaces where you can just be. You are yourself, you are with you, and you are thoroughly and completely satisfied with your own company. And perhaps a lot of that involves having the right music and being able to create the right vibe.
And that is what this set is for. Well, actually, that is what Getting Deeper is for. It’s for those moments, and those points in time that no one speaks about. Those drifting, transient spaces that are so very special to us, when no one is watching, and no one is listening, and you are the best that you can be. It is those private but inexplicable spaces that Getting Deeper seeks to fills up. And that is why I chose Luca. His music, and this set, are a representation of the passing, and often forgotten but restorative spaces for us.
For those of us who feel a connect with Luca’s type of music, this set will be very tasteful. Deep seated beats, smooth transitions and a minimal attitude makes it a set that is executed with subtlety. It’s earthy with a gorgeously nostalgic overcast.
The simplicity of the set makes it a rarity.
Thank you Luca,
For GD’s 2015 Christmas special, we’ve got a magnetic, sensual and emotional set by LennArt.
LennArt has given us a perfect pre-end gift for this year, as we have one more very special set coming up to mark the end of a transitional year which could be one of the most important chapters for GD… something that only time can tell us.
LennArt’s set represents those drifting, cinematique moments of sheer transgressions – those inner, inexplicable journeys of connection and love surrounded by nothing but sound. It is mixed to deliver a coherence that can only take you deeper, with a track selection that doesn’t disappoint the vibe that the set seeks to create – a sublime, melodic and sometimes sensually dark vibe.
It is a pleasure to have this set on Getting Deeper LennArt, thank you.
And a lovely Christmas to all of you from Getting Deeper!
Praveen Achary makes his presence in the Getting Deeper family for its 86th number in the podcast series. The India based producer and label owner of Juicebox Music has been quite a long wait for GD, for he is one of the few and most experienced artists we know of in this country who plays a sound that is widely loved in the GD community.
Along with the last three sets that were released here on Getting Deeper, we take quite a bit of pleasure to see that Praveen’s set, too, adds to the dark and sensual story that Kris Davis’ podcast started, followed by Bangalore’s Mental Machines and Mexico’s Arkadiusz. We have been digging this sound for a long time, but felt that much of it was lacking on GD. And now we are happy to see that we have created a nice stack of it in the podcast series.
Praveen’s set is a consistent journey of hypnotic, grandiose melodies and lush vibes. Smooth transitions and an impeccable tracklist makes this set a complete and wholesome listening experience. Perfect for long drives, afterhours and sunrise sessions.
Thank you Praveen!
After almost a year, we’re very happy to welcome Arkadiusz for the second time on the Getting Deeper podcast series. While his first podcast was a more earthy set with organic melodies, the second one is futuristic and hypnotic.
What we have here is a levitating set with soaring melodies and a sensually dark atmosphere. Feels like the set is a continuation to the previous podcast… almost like a turning point into a different state of mind. Perhaps we are correlating this to the artist’s own change of direction.; but while the direction seems like a change, the journey is the same.
And on this musical journey, Arkadiusz takes us into an absolutely mind blowing odyssey of luminous and dreamy soundscapes. Every track is top class and fits perfectly well with the set’s overall vibe, which is full of rich sound and emotional overtones. We love it.
Thank you Arkadiusz for once again giving us an impeccable set.
Getting Deeper’s 84th set by homegrown boys Mental Machines is a deep, mesmeric set that is a perfect continuation to our previous Kris Davis podcast. They have elevated the ‘deep,’ spacey sound into an absolutely slick & majestic level. Extremely well put together, with exceptional tracks that are blended with just the right touches and breaking points, this set is going to be on repeat for a while, and revisited many, many times.
While it may seem almost second nature to produce a sound like this when we talk about deep house, unfortunately, it is a rarity. Listening to the set feels like a nostalgic trip into the past… a trip that delves deep into the roots of what we call deep house. THIS is what deep house should really sound like… like a mind expanding journey of soaring melodies and lush vibes that are executed with subtlety and understatement.
Deep House today has evolved into many different variations. With the onset of technology and convenience, the original sound has left its fingerprints very lightly in what we hear today, which is mostly being produced too freely and quickly. What we have is (while it may be good) a couple of samples and layers of melodies packed together on top of a 120 bpm beat… which somehow leaves us a bit unsatisfied. We’re not an EDM genre. That’s too much of a simplification.
Mental Machines are one of the very few artists we’ve come across the entire spectrum of sets & artists we have heard who have captured the essence of ‘deep’ in deep house. They have revived the soft yet transcendent consistency of a pure deep house set.
We finally have Kris Davis on board for our podcast series, with a set that is both dark and magnificent. Not much to our surprise though, because Kris for us has a reputation of being on point… and always with class.
The set is a mix of different elements, almost like an interaction of powerful forces that gives it a transcendent quality. What we have here is a minimal tech + deep tech concoction of both grungy and hypnotic sounds. The vibe of the set is dark but sensual – two important characteristics that make up the quality of being mysterious.
It feels like the set is a representation of a love that has loved too much. It’s a production of an unrequited love with roots so deep that they enter into dark, melancholic… and hauntingly beautiful spaces.
Technically, it is mixed to perfection… with on point variations that are anything but monotonous. We love it.
Kris, this set is audio purity. Thank you!
